Hello, I go by Rich to most people. My roots in naturism kind of varies. I would like to say I have been a naturist since I was five when I could sneak away for half an hour at a time and strip all my clothes off and run around on my aunt’s farm before my mother would call for me since she didn’t see me. Moving on in age I was twelve when I first went skinny-dipping with a girlfriend over the summer. So, this was kind of my first social setting since I used to do it on my own.

My first visit to a resort was Birch Acres in Hancock, MA. Later, Berkshire Vista and after closing, is now called Huttopia Berkshires, a textile glamping resort. The first time I went, I was eighteen and I rode my bicycle thirteen miles, over and up to the top of three mountains, and then back home at the end of the day. I enjoyed myself and the freedom with others who didn’t judge me for wanting to be clothes free. This was the beginning of me spreading my wings, so to speak. After that I went to Gunnison Beach in NJ since I lived and worked in NYC.

I then joined CoDinners in NYC, where we would find restaurants that would allow us to come in and dine fully nude as a group. From that group I found out about Travasun’s of LI and joined them. That was where I met Susan Rothberg and she told me about the Eastern Naturist Gathering. That was my first Gathering, in 2015. At that gathering I met many of my friends today and became a lifetime member of TNS. I ended up helping set up the 2018 and 2019 Gatherings at Camp Timber Trails, the last ENG since Covid shut down the 2020 one.

In 2022 and 2023, I co-organized the Eastern Naturist Festival at Eastover with two other friends, Stacey Schnee and Pete Burwen. So when an opening occurred on the board of TNSF and I was asked to fill it, I decided to give it a try. One of the things that I want to do is possibly get the Eastern Naturist Gathering (ENG) or similar back up and running for the east coast.
